Nigella sativa (black caraway, also known as black cumin, nigella, kalonji, charnushka) is an annual flowering plant that will self seed, native to eastern Europe (Bulgaria and Romania) and western Asia (Cyprus, Turkey, Iran and Iraq), It is used as a spice in many cuisines. Nigella Seeds are often used in Indian Naan bread and Turkish breads. They go particularly well with potatoes and cauliflower.
